Do you tear down the whole patio cover?
Not usually. We strip the existing shingles, decking, and underlayment, leaving the structural framing intact. We then install the polycarbonate system directly onto the existing rafters.
Will this make my patio hotter?
If heat is a concern, we strongly recommend our opal frosted or bronze-tinted panels. They allow abundant light while significantly reducing the solar heat gain compared to a clear panel.
Does it tie into the house roof?
Yes. We use proper flashing techniques to ensure the transition from the house roof to the new polycarbonate patio roof is completely watertight.
